Who We Are

Faas Historical Consulting and Research is owned and operated by Daniel Faas a 2013 graduate of Luther College in Decorah Iowa. Daniel graduated with a double major in Classics and Political Science, with a minor in Secondary Education and an emphasis on US History. 

Since 2015 Daniel has been a High School teacher focusing on US History, World History, and US Government. During his time in college, he was a research assistant on an underwater archaeological survey and co-authored a paper on the architecture of imperial Athens. 

In 2020 Daniel began his editorial history career when he joined Frontier Media as a historical consultant for “The Front” youtube channel. As of Spring 2025 Daniel has also published his first book on the history of the Granger Movement entitled The Granger Railroads of Wisconsin with The History Press. My primary areas of expertise are Early US History (1776-1865), and Ancient Classical History (500 BCE to apprx 500 CE). However, we are happy to research any topic from any time frame.

Perhaps you like to do your own research. If you come up against any resources you need help analyzing or interpreting we can help! My primary areas of expertise are early US History (1776-1865) and Greek and Roman history however I can analyze and interpret any document from any time frame.
